Man accused of stealing 300+ cans of Monster, Red Bull from Louisville Kroger

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An man was arrested Thursday, weeks after police say he stole hundreds of dollars worth of energy drinks from a Louisville grocery store.

According to an arrest warrant, the incident took place on July 14, just after 10 a.m. at the Kroger at 12611 Taylorsville Road, near the Gene Snyder Freeway.

Police say 23-year-old Mark Rudolph put 26 cartons (more than 300 cans) of Red Bull and Monster energy drinks in his shopping cart. He then walked out of the store without paying for the merchandise.

Police say the value of the stolen energy drinks was more than $500.

A warrant was issued for Rudolph's arrest on July 21. According to court documents, he was arrested by Shepherdsville Police on Aug. 16. Rudolph is charged with theft by unlawful taking.

He is currently being held in the Bullitt County Detention Center.
