LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was arrested after police witnessed him firing shots on Baxter Avenue early Saturday morning.
Aaron Ellis, a spokesman for Louisville Metro Police, said officers responded on a reported shooting in the 900 block of Baxter Avenue just before 3 a.m.
Police found a man who was shot in the foot. He was taken to UofL Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Dino Terrel Fernando Patterson, 24, was arrested around 5:30 a.m. in connection to the shooting.
Officers on scene saw Patterson firing shots before fleeing down Baxter Avenue, court documents show.
Police then chased after him and held him at gunpoint, demanding he dropped his gun. Patterson complied and was arrested.
According to court documents, Patterson told police he fired his gun at a person running away from him. Video footage shows the victim running away from Patterson when he fired multiple shots across Baxter Avenue.
He's been initially charged with assault, wanton endangerment and discharging a firearm across a public road. Patterson is expected in court Monday morning.
