LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man died and a 13-year-old boy was injured after two shootings in Louisville's west end early Tuesday.
According to a news release Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Aaron Ellis, officers responded to the 600 block of South 39th Street around 4:20 a.m. and found a teenage boy, believed to be 13 years old, outside with a gunshot wound to his leg.
He was alert and conscious, and EMS took him to UofL Health Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release.
While officers were on the scene, they were made aware of a second shooting victim nearby at 38th Street and Broadway. Officers responded to that area and found a man with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Officers said both shootings are related and happened at or near 38th Street and Broadway.
LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting. There are no known suspects. Ellis said detectives are working to determine what led up to the shooting and possible motives.Â
