LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man died at UofL hospital nearly eight hours after he was shot Monday morning in the Portland neighborhood.
Louisville Metro Police said officers received a report of a shooting at the intersection of 24th Street and Duncan Avenue around 4:45 a.m. Monday. Officers found a man who had been shot and was suffering from what they initially called non-life-threatening injuries.
Later in the day, however, spokesperson John Bradley said the man died around 12:30 p.m. at the hospital.Â
LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating the homicide. Detectives also updated the location of the shooting to 25th Street and Crop Street.Â
