LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville man was arrested and charged in connection with a non-fatal shooting that left a woman injured in Old Louisville.

According to court documents, Sammy Frankie Allen Mobley, 50, is charged with second-degree assault following a shooting Thursday.

Just before 10 p.m. Thursday, Louisville Metro Police responded to a reported shooting in the 300 block of East Oak Street, department spokesperson Adam Sears said.

When police arrived, they found a woman who was shot in the hand, Sears said. Police gave aid until EMS arrived and took the woman to UofL Hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said Mobley was identified as the suspect during their investigation.

Police said the victim suffered a single gunshot wound to her left hand. Authorities noted she is expected to experience prolonged complications from the injury and will require follow-up medical care.

Court records indicate additional charges may be filed related to the incident.
