LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man has been charged with reckless homicide after a 4-year-old was shot and killed on Jan. 13, 2024.

Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said officers responded to a shooting in the 800 block of South 37th Street, near Doerhoefer Avenue, around 3:50 p.m. On scene, officers found a 4-year-old who had been shot.

The child died at Norton Children's Hospital in Louisville. According to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office, Zacarion Depp died by "accident."

Police said Friday that Zacari Amacher, 26, was arrested under a district court warrant after the Homicide Unit screened the case and charges were recommended. 

Amacher is set to be arraigned in court Saturday morning.
