LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was taken to the hospital after a shooting Monday morning near Academy @ Shawnee.

Aaron Ellis, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, said officers responded to a ShotSpotter notification on South 41st and Herman streets around 10:30 a.m.

When officers were on the way, it was upgraded to a shooting. Police found a man outside in the 300 block of South 41st Street with a gunshot wound to the hand.

Police said he was taken to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
