LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after police investigated a senior apartment building in Old Louisville.

Dwight Mitchell, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, said officers responded to a call for a disturbance in the 900 block of South 5th Street.

Caution tape and police vehicles could be seen in the area of Chapel House Senior Apartments, which houses residents aged 62 and older.

Police said a man was inside his apartment "with loud noises sounding like gunfire."

LMPD's SWAT team responded, and residents were evacuated as a precaution. Police said at 4:42 p.m., a man was taken into custody without incident.

There were no injuries.

The incident is under investigation and charges are pending, police said.
