LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Two people were killed after a shooting Thursday night in Louisville's Smoketown neighborhood.
According to Louisville Metro Police, officers were called around 8:50 p.m. to the 500 block of East Jacob Street on a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a man and a woman outside who had been shot.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. She was identified Friday afternoon by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as 31-year-old Dadrianna Elliott.
The man was taken to UofL Hospital, and police said at the time his condition was unknown. In an update on Friday morning, police said he had died from his injuries. He was identified Friday afternoon by the coroner's office as 28-year-old Arvontai Equadrius Owens.
LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating, but has no suspects and has made no arrests as the investigation continues.
