Man sentenced in 2021 Louisville murder of 16-year-old girl

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Prosecutors said Norman Carter Jr. was sentenced to eight years in prison for second degree manslaughter.

It's in connection to the death of Michelle Moore on July 22, 2021. Louisville Metro Police said she was shot on Cecil Avenue at 2 a.m. That's near 41st and West Market Street.

Prosecutors said Carter was 15 at the time.

Court records show over the last few years he was placed in the youth detention center in Adair County.

Now that he's 18, he will be moved to prison.

Prosecutor's said Carter was denied shock probation and will not be let out of jail.
