LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man is dead after a shooting in Louisville's Parkland neighborhood.

Louisville Metro Police said officers responded around 10:43 p.m. Wednesday to the 1000 block of S. 29th Street on a reported shooting, department spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a man who had been shot. Mitchell said the man was unconscious and not breathing, and officers performed life-saving measures until EMS arrived. The man was taken to UofL Hospital where he died.

LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating.
