LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville police are investigating after two people showed up to a local hospital with gunshot wounds.
According to Louisville Metro Police Spokesperson John Bradley, officers were called to Suburban Hospital on Dutchman's Lane around 4:15 p.m. Friday and found a man and a teen boy had been shot multiple times.
Bradley said the man was transferred to University of Louisville Hospital, and the teenager was transferred to Norton Children's Hospital downtown. Bradley said both are expected to survive.
Police determined the shooting happened in the area of the 8800 block of Hermitage Court in the Plantation neighborhood, off Westport Road in east Louisville.
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating, and made an arrest about 7:30 Friday evening. Bradley said police arrested a juvenile, charging them with assault and possession of a handgun by a minor.
In the arrest citation, police saw the juvenile coming out of an apartment with another person, and police on scene recognized the juvenile from previously-view video footage. When arrested, police found a 9mm gun and an empty 30-round magazine on the juvenile.
Anyone who may have been in the area at the time or have information in the case is asked to call LMPD's anonymous Crime Tip Line at 502-574-LMPD (5673) or submit an anonymous tip on the Crime Tip Portal by clicking here.
