LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --A murder suspect is on the run after he was mistakenly released from an Indiana jail last week.
Kevin Mason, 29, is a suspect tied to a fatal shooting in Minneapolis back in 2021.
He was taken into custody in Indiana on Sept. 11 and released just two days later.
The Marion County Sheriff's Office said it appears a records clerk is responsible for the release.
The clerk reportedly believed she was correcting duplicate bookings and removed the holds in Mason's file.
The mistake wasn't caught until the next day.
The sheriff is investigating, and said two clerks have been fired.
