LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man is in critical condition after a hit-and-run on Preston Highway Monday evening in Okolona.Â
Louisville Metro Police were called to the 7700 block of Preston Highway on a reported crash around 8:30 p.m., department spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. That's near Hillview Boulevard and Rogers Avenue.
Ellis said investigators believe the man was on a motorcycle headed southbound on Preston Highway. When he tried to make his way through traffic, he ended up in the middle of Preston Highway in the turning lane, where he was hit head-on by a vehicle that was also in that lane "for some unknown reason."
The man on the motorcycle was ejected, Ellis said, and the car that hit him failed to stop or call for help, fleeing on Preston Highway.
Ellis said the man was transported by EMS to University Hospital where he is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.Â
