LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Nelson County man was arrested early Monday after deputies said he led them on a high-speed chase that reached more than 100 mph.

Deputies attempted to stop a Pontiac Grand Prix for speeding and careless driving around 12:58 a.m. Sept. 29. The driver refused to stop and fled south on New Haven Road, crossed Monks Road and continued onto New Hope Road, according to a post on the Nelson County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

The vehicle left the roadway at Tollgate Road, causing property damage, before stopping behind a house. After searching the area, deputies located the driver, Ryan K. Chesser, 28, and took him into custody.

Chesser faces multiple charges, including fleeing police, reckless driving, possession of a handgun by a felon, trafficking methamphetamine and cocaine, wanton endangerment and criminal mischief. He also had an active parole violation warrant.

The Nelson County Sheriff's Office said it was assisted by Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Nelson County EMA drone team.
