LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- New Albany police are looking for a man accused of attacking a woman and touching her without consent.

NAPD Chief Todd Bailey said the incident was reported by the victim at 2:40 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, near the Circle K at the corner of State and Spring streets in downtown New Albany.

The victim reported she had been doing some shopping at the store, left on her bike and was headed north on State Street when a "suspicious male" knocked her off her bike, according to Bailey.

She said the man then "forced her to a building" near Oak Street and "touched her body without permission."

When that happened, she screamed and was able to escape and call police. EMS responded and treated her for scrapes from being knocked off her bike and the struggle, Bailey said.

The suspect has not yet been identified. He's described as a Black male with a medium build, believed to be about five-feet-five-inches tall with a goatee. Bailey said he was wearing black sweatpants and a black hoodie at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call NAPD's tip line at (812) 948-NAPD (6273). You can also call the department itself at (812) 948-5300.
