LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police gave the all clear after shots were fired early Wednesday morning inside a hospital in St. Matthews.

It happened just before 6 a.m. at Baptist Health Louisville on Kresge Way.

St. Matthews Police Chief Barry Wilkerson said a female patient was in a wheelchair and brought a gun into the hospital, where she fired four shots inside a room.

She barricaded herself in the room and it took police about 30 minutes to get her to give up the weapon.

LMPD spokesman Matthew Sanders said there is no active aggressor and no injuries are known at this time.

Charges are expected against the woman.
