LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A southern Indiana couple was arrested after a 10-month-old may have been exposed to an illegal drug.
According to Indiana State Police, 37-year-old David Foutch and 25-year-old Angela Foutch were arrested Monday and charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury after an investigation that began in late October.
ISP said they were contacted by the Indiana Department of Child Services after caseworkers responded to Norton Children's Hospital in Louisville regarding the child.
The child was taken by parents to a hospital in Salem, Indiana, before being transferred to Louisville.
According to ISP, the staff at Norton described the child's condition as "life-threatening" and notified DCS.
Arrest warrants were issued for the couple after an investigation that involved interviews, review of medical records and subpoenaed test results.
Both are being held at the Washington County Jail.
