LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 33-year-old man was arrested after allegedly driving impaired with a 1-month-old in the vehicle in southern Indiana.

Indiana State Police said in a news release that Garrett Smelosky, of Jeffersonville, on Nov. 12 at around 9:30 p.m. allegedly sped past emergency vehicles working a crash just west of Interstate 65.

According to police, Smelosky was stopped near the 10th Street exit off Interstate 265 after failing to yield and speeding.

Police said during the stop, Smelosky allegedly showed signs of impairment and a 1-month-old was in the back seat at the time. The child was unharmed and released to a family member.

Smelosky was taken to the Clark County Detention Center and charged with neglect of a dependent, operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a passenger under 18 and operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person.
