LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A southern Indiana man was arrested and charged with rape Wednesday in connection to a cold case.
Craig Long of Switzerland County, Indiana, was taken into custody after an investigation that began in 2011, according to Indiana State Police.
In July 2011, detectives started investigating a sexual assault. Police said a woman was battered and sexually assaulted inside a house near Deputy, Indiana, in Jefferson County, and the suspect was never caught.
Late last year, investigators were able to use DNA to track down a family member of the suspect which led them to Long. They then matched Long's DNA to evidence collected during the case.
Long was charged with rape, burglary and aggravated battery. His bond was set at $500,000.
