LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A southern Indiana man was arrested for child molestation and other felony charges on Tuesday.
In a release, Indiana State Police said troopers arrested James Crawford Jr., 32, of Salem after a tip from a school resource officer in Washington County that a child had possibly been molested by an adult male. Â
According to ISP, an investigation was started in February 2024. Investigators believe the illegal contact occurred over the span of several months in both Washington and Clark counties.
The investigation involved state police working alongside caseworkers with the Indiana Department of Child Services. Interviews were conducted with the child and others related to the case.Â
Crawford is charged with three counts of child molestation and one count of tattooing a minor in Washington County, and one count of child seduction, one count of sexual misconduct with a minor, and one count of child solicitation in Clark County.
He is being held without bond in Washington County and has a $50,000 cash only bond on the Clark County charges.Â
