LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A suspect was arrested Thursday after taking a child from a location in south Louisville, which caused a standoff with SWAT.
John Bradley, a spokesman for Louisville Metro Police, said officers responded to a domestic violence call in the 100 block of Kingston Avenue around noon.
Once on scene, officers believed the suspect left for the 100 block of Hartwell Court and had taken a small child. Police also thought the suspect was possibly had a rifle.
LMPD's SWAT was then contacted for support.
After a short standoff, the suspect was surrounded by SWAT, and no one was hurt.
The child was returned to the parent on Kingston Avenue, and all parties have been accounted for.
LMPD's Domestic Violence Unit is investigating.
