LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A retired police officer in Radcliff, Kentucky, who was arrested Jan. 4 for charges that included rape and sodomy has died of terminal cancer.

David Love, 69, was under investigation by Kentucky State Police after an alleged sexual relationship with a minor. Love admitted during a non-custodial interview that he received sexual acts from the minor.

This took place two or more times when the victim was under the age of 14 and continued until they were 14, according to an arrest citation. Love also admitted to having child pornography on a tablet and sending it on Facebook Messenger.

The Hardin County Coroner's Office confirmed Love died at Baptist Health Hardin Tuesday morning. No foul play is suspected. Love was being held at the Hardin County Detention Center, but was out on bail at the time of his death. He was set to appear in court for a hearing this Friday.

Since his arrest, there was speculation over Love's appearance when his mugshot was taken less than two weeks ago. His face was swollen and bruised, with what looks like a thick bandage around his head.

The coroner has not yet confirmed what Love's cause of death was.
