Teenager shot and killed in Chickasaw neighborhood, Louisville police say

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A teenager was shot and killed in the Chickasaw neighborhood Saturday night, according to Louisville Metro Police.

LMPD Sgt. Matt Sanders said police responded to a shooting in the 1000 block of S. 45th Street near Flaget Field Park around 7:11 p.m. Police said a teenager between the ages of 16 to 18 years old was shot multiple times.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim Sunday as 16-year-old Airean Carr.

LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting.
