LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A woman is dead after a shooting in downtown Louisville Monday night.

Louisville police were called to the 700 block of S. Brook Street near Broadway about 10:20 p.m. on a report of a shooting, department spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. Upon arrival, officers found a woman who had been shot outside the location.

Life-saving measures were given until EMS and Louisville Fire got on scene, Ellis said. The woman was taken to University of Louisville Hospital where she died.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the woman as 36-year-old Ashley Lanham.

LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating, but have no suspects and have made no arrests.
