LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One person died after a car crashed and then burst into flames south of Fern Creek.

According to a release from Louisville Metro Police, the single-vehicle crash happened just after noon on Tuesday on Seatonville Road, off Billtown Road.

LMPD said the driver lost control, hit a ditch and ended up in a wooded area before catching fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, but the victim died at the scene. Police believe it was a man.

No other vehicles were involved in this collision. LMPD’s Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
