LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Leaders in the Archdiocese of Louisville Catholic Schools are preparing for their students to return to the classroom in just two weeks for the 2025-26 school year.

Superintendent Amy Nall joined WDRB Mornings on Monday and said faculty and staff have been planning all summer for the students' return and are looking forward to starting the year.

Safety is top of mind for Nall and the teachers this year — not just physical safety but also emotional and psychological safety. The best thing faculty and staff can do is know their students and have a good relationship, Nall said.

Buses and bus drivers are not a challenge this year with the Catholic schools as they partner with transportation services to make sure each district is covered. On the other hand, teacher shortages are always a challenge, Nall said.

"We continue to think creatively and partner with Bellarmine University to find ways on how we can attract teachers into system and attract people back to school for some alternative routes for going into education," Nall said.
