LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Bellarmine University and Louisville Ballet are teaming up to offer dancers a new way to build careers on and off the stage.
The institutions announced a Bachelor of Arts in Arts Administration: Dance, a program designed specifically for pre-professional and professional dancers.
Leaders said the partnership allows dancers to continue intensive training and performances while earning a bachelor’s degree.
Academic coursework will be completed online, giving students flexibility to balance rehearsals with their studies.
Louisville Ballet officials say the program helps remove long-standing challenges dancers often face when trying to pursue higher education alongside professional training.
Students will receive guidance from advisors at both institutions as they move through the program.
The program is set to launch this fall.
