LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Dana Brown has been named Overdale Elementary School Principal following the departure of Adrienne Usher as the district Director of Elementary Education.

That's according to a news release sent to WDRB from Bullitt County Public Schools.

“I am honored that the Overdale Elementary School community has chosen me to be their new principal,” Brown said in the news release. "I am also very excited about the journey we will take together to further the wonderful things already taking place there."

Brown joined the district two years ago as curriculum coach at Old Mill Elementary School.

Brown says she feels the elementary level of education is the greatest level in which to be involved.

"At this level, we work to build a strong foundation on which further learning can be extended and enhanced," Brown said.

Among her long-term goals are ensuring Overdale is continuing to grow and move forward with student learning and staff professional growth.

Brown and her husband, Troy, have two sons. Jacob is 19 and a recent graduate of DeSales High School. Jonah is 14 and will be attending Bullitt East this school year.
