LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- More than a dozen Fairdale High School seniors already have a full-time job after graduation.
Seniors in the Diesel and Heavy Equipment career pathways program signed letters of employment with local companies Thursday morning.Ā They'll be working for local contractors, unions, construction companies, and repair businesses.
"I was originally wanting to go to college and I switched my pathway because this was a career I wanted to pursue and it's something that I'm very passionate about. And I love operating heavy equipment and that's where I wanna go."
Other students also showed off their skills using heavy machinery to prospective employers recruiting workers.
A few hundred students are enrolled in pathways programs at Fairdale.
