LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — All Kentucky residents can now attend a southern Indiana university at a discounted rate.

Indiana University Southeast announced Tuesday that starting this fall, all Kentucky residents will be eligible for a reduced rate on their tuition through the Indiana Partner Program.

Currently, the university and the state of Kentucky have a reciprocity agreement that allows residents in eight Kentucky counties — Jefferson, Bullitt, Henry, Meade, Oldham, Shelby, Trimble and Spencer — to receive in-state tuition. Now, because of the Indiana Partner Program, all Kentucky counties are included in this reciprocity agreement.

“At Indiana University Southeast, we take pride in transforming lives by providing a career-focused education that allows students to pursue their degrees while still managing everyday expenses,” Dr. Debbie Ford, chancellor of IU Southeast, said in a news release.

The university said the new agreement will save an average of 57% off standard out-of-state tuition. To qualify for the Indiana Partner tuition rate, students must live in a participating state, be a full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate student and be enrolled in an on-campus degree program.

IU Southeast, located in New Albany, will also match KEES scholarship funds for students in any Kentucky county.
