LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) has launched an internal investigation into a middle school after students' failing grades were allegedly modified.
A JCPS spokesperson confirmed Superintendent Dr. Marty Pollio requested an investigation to "begin immediately" at Stuart Academy.
The district said it's looking into reports of grades being modified at the middle school.
In an internal email obtained by WDRB, Stuart Academy's principal, Darren Dawson, indicated they "decided to go ahead and change all grades back to what the teacher originally reported."
It continued that the school will not be changing any grades moving forward to correct the error.

One family told WDRB it noticed Thursday afternoon their student's grades changed from a passing grade to failing.
At this time it's unclear what grades were changed to and how many students were impacted.
According to district data, just over 1,000 students attend Stuart Academy. State date reports 80% of student enrollment are economically disadvantage.
The same data includes state testing data, which reports just under 15% of students are proficient or above in reading, and 5% are proficient or above in math.
