LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jefferson County Public Schools is offering free physical exams and vaccinations for its students over the next week.
One of several was held Thursday at Valley High School, providing sports physicals and vaccinations to students.
JCPS said the process takes a little over an hour, depending on what students need.
The free health screenings are for students without health insurance, a regular pediatrician or high-deductible insurance. Exams will be held at various high schools through June 20.
"And that's a hardship for many people, but it's so very important because kids need to be healthy to learn," Eva Stone, manager of District Health for JCPS, said.
Another clinic will be held Friday at Western High School from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Four more will be held next week, also from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- June 16 - Central High School
