LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Community and Technical College System is breaking records.

Data shows the highest number of credentials and graduates on record since it was founded in the 1997-98 academic year, according to a news release.

For the 2024-25 academic year, the 16 community colleges awarded 44,402 credentials, including degrees, diplomas and certificates.

The number of graduates also reached an all-time record, with 24,263 graduates earning at least one credential -- the highest number to date.

"These milestones demonstrate the commitment of our students, faculty and staff to creating a better future for themselves, their families and our state," KCTCS President Ryan Quarles said in a written statement.

The official numbers will be submitted to the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education next month, and final totals could vary slightly.
