LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- New Albany Floyd County Schools wants to change the rules after several contentious board meetings.

The district is considering a new policy that shifts away from allowing anyone to sign up and address the board.

The new rules would limit guaranteed public comment to items on the meeting’s agenda.

If someone wants to speak on another topic, they would have to submit a request online and be approved by the superintendent and board president.

Several community members spoke out against the change Monday night.

The board tabled the vote and told the superintendent to bring tweaks to the policy to its next meeting.
