LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Meredith-Dunn School celebrated a ribbon-cutting Friday for a new addition to its campus.

The expansion features a STEAM lab (science, technology, engineering, art, and math), an Arts & Media Lab, a digital learning center and a lunchroom.

The new spaces are designed to support students who struggle with reading, writing, math or paying attention and provide more hands-on, collaborative learning opportunities.

Founded in 1971, Meredith-Dunn School has specialized in helping students with language-based learning differences for more than 50 years.

“This addition is about creating spaces that mirror the way our students learn best through engagement, creativity, and connection,” said Rebecca Roberts, head of school.

Speakers at the ribbon-cutting included Rebecca Roberts; Steve DeWeese, board chair and executive vice president at Republic Bank; and Mark Lichtefeld, board member, parent of a former student, and vice president of operations at Lichtefeld Inc.
