LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Simmons College of Kentucky is set for a major campus boost after a $2.5 million gift from Papa John’s founder John Schnatter.
The donation will help the Historically Black College purchase, renovate, and expand vacant residential condos at College Court, fueling growth and increasing opportunities for students.
"This generous gift amplifies the amazing growth and momentum of Simmons College, as one of America’s fastest growing Historically Black Colleges and Universities," said President Kevin W. Cosby, Ph.D., D.Min.
Schnatter added, "Supporting Simmons College and its campus development is an honor as the institution continues to grow and remains a vital pillar in the Louisville community."
In recent years, Simmons College has seen record enrollment, launched new programs, earned national accreditation for its teacher education program and expanded its Westover Campus.
