LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Cherie Hofmann, a science teacher at Corydon Central High School, is under investigation by local police and school administration.

Mark Eastridge, the superintendent for the South Harrison Community School Corporation, wouldn't release specific details Wednesday, only saying there was an "apparent incident with a student" Tuesday in class and Hoffman is no longer in the classroom.

He said this is standard procedure when a staff member is under investigation. He wouldn't say whether Hofmann is on paid or unpaid leave.

The Corydon Police Department said they believe the incident to be isolated.
