LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Spalding University is removing barriers to admissions through a new admissions program.

The university in Louisville joined more than 100 colleges and universities to offer more students postsecondary opportunities. According to a news release, the university will help students by streamlining the application process and offer additional tools, services and support.

High school seniors with a 2.0 GPA has the ability to receive direct admission into Spalding University. 

"Spalding University's direct admissions program will open a pathway for students by streamlining the application process, transforming the college narrative from one of scarcity to one of opportunity," Lyndsey Bell, director of admissions at Spalding University, said in a news release. "Through launching this initiative, Spalding University has demonstrated a continued and shared commitment to pursuing access, equity, and integrity in the college admission process."

According to a news release, Spalding University joined Common App's direct admission program. That will provide first generation and low- to middle-income students who are interested in college with proactive admissions. There is no application fee for students.
