LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Trimble County Schools will be closed the rest of the week due to illness.
The school district announced on Facebook that due to widespread illness across the district and in the community, the district will be closed Thursday, Jan. 15 and Friday, Jan. 16, 2026. The district said the days will be made up at the end of the school year.
"We do not take the decision to cancel school or activities lightly," Trimble County Schools said in the post. "We understand the inconvenience this causes for families, and we truly hate to have to cancel. However, with the significant increase in illness we are currently seeing, the last thing we want to do is contribute to further spread or put the health of our students, staff, and families at risk."
In addition, youth league basketball practices and games are cancelled through Sunday, Jan. 18, and will resume on Monday, Jan. 19.
