LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- University of Louisville President Kim Schatzel said Tuesday afternoon she "can't comment" when asked directly if she still holds the university's top position.

The school's Board of Trustees plans to meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday to discuss personnel matters.

WDRB News was told by several sources Tuesday that a shakeup in the president's office was imminent. A reporter called Schatzel on her cell phone shortly after 4:30 p.m. asking about her job status.

"I'm sorry. I can't comment," she said in the brief interview.

"The Board of Trustees has taken no action. Dr. Schatzel remains president of the university," U of L spokesman John Karman said in a text message.

Also on Tuesday, University of Cincinnati President Neville Pinto wrote in a memo to the school that Gerry Bradley, a finalist for the UC executive vice president for academic affairs and provost, "is pursuing other opportunities."

Bradley held the same post at U of L but accepted the Cincinnati job last week, according to the Louisville Cardinal student news site.

Schatzel was named U of L's 19th president on November 30, 2022. She was formerly president of Towson University in suburban Baltimore.
