LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- There were a few problems to start the busiest travel day of the year at Louisville International Airport.

A power outage prevented people who arrived before 5 a.m. to pass through security.  Airport spokeswoman Natalie Chaudoin says there was an electrical issue overnight. She did not know if it was maintenance or part of the terminal upgrades.

Chaudoin says security checkpoints have reopened.  Everything is expected to be back on line by 5:45 a.m.  One 5:15 a.m. flight to Charlotte, North Carolina was delayed. But the bulk of flights out of Louisville International don't depart until after 6:15 a.m., so no further delays are expected over this issue.
