LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A nonprofit based in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, donated thousands of dollars to a Louisville police officer shot during a mass shooting in April.

Give 270 donated $8,000 to the family of Louisville Metro Police officer Nick Wilt, who was shot in the head while responding to a shooting at Old National Bank in downtown Louisville on his fourth-ever shift with the force.

After being in critical condition for weeks, battling pneumonia and undergoing various therapies, Wilt was released from rehab in July.

Give 270 raised the money by partnering with North Hardin Wine and Spirits and Mammoth Liquors to sell exclusive bourbon bottles featuring a thin blue line decal.

The donation comes after a benefit motorcycle ride was held Saturday, Sept. 23, for Wilt. Last weekend, WAKY Radio celebrated its 65th year on air with an anniversary concert on Sept. 17 that also benefitted the officer. In August, the family was given $170,000 from "Wilt Week" in St. Matthews.
