LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Elizabethtown Police Department is warning the public about an officer impersonation scam.
Officers have received reports that citizens are being contacted by someone claiming to be with the Elizabethtown Police Department.
The scammer is attempting to collect fines by falsely claiming the person missed jury duty.
These calls are not legitimate and you should hang up immediately.
The department also recommends not answering calls from phone numbers you don't recognize.
