LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The families of several victims killed at a mall near Indianapolis filed lawsuits against the mall's owner.
Three people were killed when the 20-year-old gunman opened fire at the Greenwood Park Mall in July 2022. The gunman was eventually shot by Elisjsha Dicken, a legally armed man from Seymour.
The two wrongful death lawsuits filed by the victims families are against Simon Property Group and its security provider Allied Security Services.
They claim the companies failed to take reasonable precautions to protect shoppers and the gunman was able to sit in a bathroom stall with the weapons for more than 30 minutes before the shooting.
