LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — You've heard of farm to table, but what about farm to bagel?
Great Bagel & Bakery just opened its first Louisville location on Shelbyville Road in Middletown.
A husband and wife team started the business in Lexington 14 years ago, where it now has two locations.
The bakery uses fresh-milled flour and locally sourced ingredients.
"Our thing is we make everything from scratch, we mill our own flour, we use organic flour and partner with farms in Illinois and Minnesota, they sell us grains," Robert Swan, employee at Great Bagel & Bakery said. "We mill it in house and we make our bagels fresh every day."
Besides bagels, they serve sandwiches, soups, salads and other baked goods.
