LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) ā Two people were taken to the hospital after a fire at a senior living facility in Middletown.
According to MetroSafe, the call came in a little before 6 p.m. Sunday for a fire at Arcadia Senior Living, 901 Blankenbaker Parkway. That's across from Southeast Christian Church.Ā
Anchorage Middletown FireĀ Chief Pat Walsh said when crews arrived, they found smoke coming from the building. Firefighters evacuated and accounted for all 65 residents who live in the facility.
Walsh said two people were taken to the hospital, one for minor smoke inhalation and the other for a medical condition. Their conditions are not known at this time.
Walsh said about 9 p.m. Sunday crews are trying to get control of the fire and the scene is still active. More than 50 firefighters, 15 fire units, several local fire companies and seven ambulances were on scene of the blaze.
The senior living facility is working to contact resident's families, and a reunification area for families has been set up at Southeast Christian Church's parking lot across the street from the facility.
