LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- No one was injured in a Fern Creek house fire on Sunday morning, according to fire officials.
Fern Creek Fire Department Assistant Chief Dewayne Hutchens said Fern Creek Fire and EMS, Jeffersontown Fire and Okolona Fire responded to a house fire in the 6000 block of Fernview Drive, near Beulah Church Road, around 9:04 a.m.
Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes, according to Hutchens. There was a fire in the basement of the single family home.
Around 20 firefighters brought the fire under control within 10 minutes of the first responders arriving at the home. Hutchens said one person in the home evacuated through a window, but no one was injured.
Hutchens said the home suffered "moderate fire damage" in the basement, along with smoke damage in the first floor and attic area.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to Hutchens.
