LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Indiana's top economic development post will soon have a new leader.
According to FOX 59, Gov. Mike Braun announced Thursday that former Indiana state Rep. Chuck Goodrich will become the state's next secretary of commerce, replacing David Adams, who is stepping down at the end of the month.
Goodrich brings experience from both government and the private sector. He served three terms in the Indiana House and is the CEO of Gaylor Electric, one of the country's largest electrical contracting firms.
Braun said Goodrich's background in business and job creation makes him a strong fit to help guide Indiana's economic growth efforts.
Adams will leave the position June 30 and is expected to transition into a senior advisory role focused on Indiana's life sciences initiative, which aims to expand jobs and investment in growing industries such as biotechnology and agriculture.
Goodrich said he is eager to continue promoting Indiana as a place for businesses to invest, grow and hire workers.
