LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An online threat put one southern Indiana school district on high alert on Friday.
Salem Community Schools posted on social media that a student at the middle school received an online threat from a former student. Schools went on lock-in procedures, as a precaution. But classes were held on schedule.
The district says the former student who made threats is now in police custody in Kentucky, but it did not elaborate.
The student who was threatened stayed at home with parents until the situation was resolved.

Salem Community Schools also issued a statement on social media thanking its SRO, the Washington County Sheriff's Department and Indiana State Police for helping keep the schools safe.
The lock-in was lifted just after 1 p.m.
